Christmas Break

You know that you are far behind when you have not even touched Christmas on your blog.

Let us start with our December... Every year our Cul-de-sac has a Progressive Dinner for Christmas (instead of exchanging gifts... Brilliant) This year we hosted the Dessert portion of the dinner, which also happens to be when the White Elephant gift exchange happens. Mike one year donated his prize (used I might add) "Rectopexy" (an instrument that doctors use to repair prolapsed rectums, and something else in the nether-regions that I can't remember right now...) It is the gift that keeps on giving... (it was horribly funny that the first appearance of said rectopexy was when our Alternative lifestyle neighbours across the street got it!!) Funny. It came back and was recieved by my neighbour's son. Poor guy, and we will not be here next year for it. It is a gift that we will always be remembered by.

Every year Mike's residency has a Christmas lunch and after the Christmas lunch Santa and Mrs. Claus come and visit the kids.. Her is Colton meeting them.

We had some snow come late December, and we did some sledding with some friends... It was lovely in the morning, and by the time we went out, we were having sleet. It was not my idea of the greatest sledding day ever, but the kids had a blast. Mads tirelessly runs the hill, Halle gets tired after a couple of runs, and ends up lying in the snow licking it, and Colton is still deciding if he likes sledding..

Chirstmas Eve was fun... We went over to our dear friends the Wells' who threw a lovely Christmas Eve bash. We had my darling little sister and her hubby with us. I think that there were somewhere around 22 kids, and 16ish adults... It was great birth control for them, and great amusement for us. We will miss these great get togethers for holidays...

Colton got to be a sheep for the Nativity... He did not really care for his role.

Here is most of the kids .... Mads was a Wiseman and Halle was a Shepherd.

Christmas morning... waiting for Aunt Cathy and Uncle Kevin to come upstairs.

The last weekend before school started, we had planned on going to Chicago to go to the temple, and we awoke to at least a foot of new snow, and it took us until noon to dig out of our driveway... some of it was compliments of the snowplow. We never made it to Chicago that day... Some other time.

We even took the kids ice skating... Look at what a Natural Colton is.

I would love to add some pictures of the holidays. Complete with the girls mauling kevy. Instead, Some big guy with dreads is enjoying them while watching a 52" tv and playing xbox
